The Förderverein Waldrappteam (ZVR: 017715608) was founded in 2002. The aim of this association is the promotion of scientific projects for the conservation and reintroduction of Northern Bald Ibises (Geronticus eremita). As Coordinating Beneficiary the Förderverein Waldrappteam leads the LIFE+ project "Reason for Hope".

The Konrad-Lorenz-Forschungsstelle in Grünau (Upper Austria) as scientific partner of the LIFE+ project supports us by offering know-how and by the provision of Northern Bald Ibis nestlings from their sedentary colony.

As Italian partner of the LIFE+ project Parco Natura Viva (Verona) supports us mainly by organization, communication and public relation in Italy. In addition it plays an important role within the campaign against illegal hunting in Italy.

As coordinator of the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) the Alpenzoo Innsbruck is responsible for the genetic screening of the Nothern Bald Ibis colonies in context with the LIFE+ project.

Salzburg provides the second breeding area of our Northern Bald Ibises. Land Salzburg supports the LIFE+ project mainly by the installation of the needed infrastructure and selective public relations

Tierpark Rosegg (Carinthia) supports the reintroduction project by providing Northern Bald Ibis nestlings from their sedentary colony for the hand-raising and human-led migration.

Tiergarten Schönbrunn

Tiergarten Schönbrunn

From 2014 to 2017, the hand-raising of the Northern Bald Ibis nestlings takes place at Tiergarten Schönbrunn (Vienna). In autumn, those birds will be guided to the wintering area (Tuscany). 

Additionally, Tiergarten Schönbrunn supports the project by organizing various information events
